** Idaho to make wolf hunting year round ** State to always have at least one area open to wolf hunting-
New rules! Idaho has decided in effect to always have at least one place in the state open to wolf hunting on a rotating basis. This is in addition to the general wolf hunt that goes for about half a year. Wolf hunting began July 1 this year on private land in northern Idaho. The general wolf hunt will begin Aug. 30 and go until March 31. However, some units will remain open until June 30. Then on July 1, 2013 private land in northern Idaho will again open.

Under the new rules, there is no limit on how many wolves can be killed in total except in 5 wolf hunting units. For example, the Island Park wolf hunting unit adjacent to Yellowstone Park will have a limit (quota) of 30 wolves. Previous wolf counts, however, make it doubtful that 30 wolves live there unless they can catch some Yellowstone Park wolves temporarily out of the Park....... http://www.thewildlifenews.com/2012/07/03/idaho-to-make-wolf-hunting-year-round/

Welcome to Howling Wolf!

The wolf is a large member of the canine family. Wolves are very intelligent creatures whose upright ears, sharp, pointed muzzles, inquiring eyes, and other facial features instantly convey this quality. Their heads closely resemble that of a german shepherd dog, although the skull is broader and more massive. Wolves also have ruffs of long hair  framing the sides of their faces like sideburns.

There are many reasons why wolves are endangered, Most people used to be afraid of wolves and thought they were dangerous to humans.

Is the cry of the wolf a mournful farewell? or does it announce his return. Will we grant him a place to live? and in turn give ourselves something more valuable? We all must work together to ensure that the songs of the wolves will always be heard in all the wild places of our earth.

The wolf has been part of the natural balance for thousands of years, in less than 100 years man through ignorance and misinformation has almost made wolves disappear forever. Protect the Wolf!
